Free Agent - NA

IMO . To be a good Grover you have to position yourself in a spot where the majority of your teammates will benefit from your passive healing. Knowing when to cripple your targets is also very key and can ruin your enemies plans for when they try to dash in and out. Hitting your axe's in general to apply damage when your Q is on cool down is very beneficial for your team as well.

Grover and pip are very similar when it comes to healing styles even though they are completely different characters. Pip excels at doing damage when his potions are on CD. Same thing applies to Grover when his Q is on cool down. Try to be mindful of where the enemy damages are as well so you don't take to much damage and don't instantly die. Staying out of LoS for the most part can be beneficial for your team, you just have to pick and choose the fights you take when trying to poke the enemy team down.

Left Click - Grover hurls an axe dealing 300 damage to his enemies. But the farther away his enemies are the harder he hits. Scaling from 300-750 damage an axe depending on the range hes hitting his targets from. This awards grover to pressure back line champions such as snipers as much as possible to poke them out of team fights.

Right Click - Throw an axe dealing 400 damage and crippling the target hit for 2seconds. Meaning if he hits a cassie , she cannot use her dodge roll ability for 2 seconds. This can actually cause enemies who over extend die because they think they have their mobility still up and can get out safe.

F - Throw a vine that latches onto the first ally or terrain that it touches, then pull yourself towards it. A lot of people dont use the vining to allies mechanic very much and it can be very useful. If your ally evie is soaring through the air and you can vine to evie, you will actually trail behind her on her broom stick to do a double dive attack on the enemy shes soaring to.

Q - Passively healing all nearby allies for 80 HP a second. Activate this ability to heal nearby allies instantly for 900 hp. ( 10s CD ) This is grovers main healing ability and should be used off cool down to maximize your healing up time.

E - Rapidly heal all nearby allies for 2500hp per second for 4 seconds. Really good ult early game but will be effected by caut heavily the later the game goes on.

Rampant Blooming
Build Section
Notes

Rampant Blooming - Healing allies with blossom will heal them for an addition 150 HP per second for 3 seconds. Its a really nice for just an extra bit of healing. This legendary excels early game before the enemies get caut 2 or 3.

Verdant Expanse 5 - Should be in all your grover builds imo. Gives 50% increased radius to your blossom ability, which is your main source of healing output.

Perennial 4 - 2 seconds off your blossom CD. This just simply lets you put out more healing for your team. Also when you buy chronos the CD because even less.

Unstoppable 4 - Gain 24% DR for 4 seconds after using blossom. This is a tiny bit more than a haven 2 and a blast shield 2 during the game without buying those items after every time you heal. And since grover is constantly healing this card makes him kinda tanky since he has such a big body to shoot at.

Adrenaline 1 - Eliminations reduce all active CD's by 10%. Since supports get elimination credits when healing allies and they get a kill. This 10% CD will take place almost every time a kill is taking place in the game since grover is constantly healing with his Q or his passive in general.

Barkskin 1 - Increase hp by 75. This can be the difference between staying a live or dying in a team fight when your DR from Unstoppable comes into play.

Deep Roots
Build Section
Notes

Yes you do still build like you are a support champ with your item buys, you are still the support.

Deep Roots - Crippling throw now roots for 1 second and bounces between enemies. The range of the bounces may not be very big like maelstrom Grohk. But if the enemy team is stacking 2 or more players and you can right a crippling throw on them. Those players will be standing still unable to use any movement abilities. That's essentially free damage that they take because they cant dodge any ones attacks.

This talent is supposed to snowball team fights in a very aggressive manner.

Chop Down 4 - Reduced the CD of Crippling Throw by 2.4seconds. Since the base CD of Crip throw is 7 seconds this puts the CD, down to 4.6seconds in game without counting for chronos. This allows you to root more targets and get more dps out in your down time.

Chopper 1 - Hitting an enemy with crippling throw heals you for 100hp. Since Deep roots talent makes your crippling throw bounce to nearby enemies as well, you can get a lot of self sustain value from this card which can keep you in team fights longer. Especially if you're not cauted and you root 3-5 people.

Adrenaline 1 - Eliminations reduce all active CD's by 10%. Since supports get elimination credits when healing allies and they get a kill. This 10% CD will take place almost every time a kill is taking place in the game since grover is constantly healing with his Q or his passive in general. Also allows for more roots when you get constant elims. This card should can snowball your grover deck into early team fight wins if played right.

Notes

Whether your Deep roots grover or rampant blooming grover. Crippling your target before they use their mobility abilities is key on grover. This section will be a list of all champions dashes you can counter.

Andro - After Andro's first dash, when hitting him with a cripple will actually take away the rest of his 3 dashes left and put the ability on cooldown. Meaning Andro has no mobility to run away.

Ash - Is Similar to Andro. When Ash is in mid animation for charging up her dash. Hitting her with a fast cripple will actually put her dash ability on cool down.

Then they're Champions who you want to preemptively crippling.

Barik / Cassie / Grohk / Talus / Buck - Are just some of the examples of, you want to cripple them before they use their mobility ability. You cant really crippling Cassie mid roll, so stopping her before she tries to roll away is key. Same idea goes for talus's punch dash / bucks leap / Grohks ghost walk. Barik on the other hand you can cripple his mid rocket boots, but most Barik's will gain their bowling ball proc and gain their 1200+ shield when they activate rocket boots. So you want to root him before he dashes so he cant get that shield proc.

Sha / Kin / Khan / Makoa / Maeve / Zhin / Ruckus / Lian / Lex / Willo / Furia Are also good examples ^^^

Drogoz / Evie - Are 2 champions that will dying really fast if you cripple them. Evie blinking ontop of your team is annoying. If you can crippling her when she blinks in, thats 2 seconds that squishy evie cannot blink out and will almost instantly die from your team. When drogoz is flying high in the sky and you hit him with a crippling throw, he will drop from the sky to the ground like a rock, making him an easy kill target.

Viktor and Jenos - When Viktor is sprinting or Jenos is in his Steller Wind. Hitting a cripple will make both of these targets stop sprinting / gliding around making them less likely to get away.

Notes

Although every champion can deal lots of damage if you're standing in the open. These 3 specifically will destroy Grovers health pool when in their L.o.S.

Kin / Strix - If they head shot you , you will most likely be under 20% hp and in risk of dying.

Lian - With her presence build / talent she can almost instantly kill Grover in most situations.

Item Buys
Build Section
Notes

Chronos - Should be your first buy no matter what talent you're playing. Chronos 2 is a must, if you have enough for chronos 3 or pretty close for chronos 3 you might as well save for it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Haven / Blast Shields - Allows you to take more damage. Buying level 2 of each of these items. ( If the enemy team has strong Direct / AoE damages or tanks ) Makes you a tanky support. Since Grover is such a big target it makes him relatively easier to hit then say a Lian or Cassie.

Resil - Only calls for if you're being CC'd a lot or the enemy team has 2 CC ults like Inara / Pip.

Kill to heal - Gets value on all supports since you get credits for eliminations when healing allies and they get a kill. Just adds more sustain to your build.

Moral boost - Is really good for gaining your ult over and over and over again. But you must be spamming this ult to get value out of this card. Don't put it to waste.

Cauterize - Is decent on Grover since most of your down time you're going to be attacking targets.

Bulldozer - Only calls for if the enemy team has to much deployables, Ex: Barik Turrets / Ying Clones / Grohk totem.

Wrecker - Isn't a terrible buy either if you need to help bring down some shields faster.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Personally when i've been running my Rampant Blooming Grover with my DR build. Going Chronos 2 into Haven and blast shield 2. Makes you really really tanky and gives you a lot more sustain.

You would buy both haven / blast shield if the enemy team is kinda split between Direct / AoE damages.

Ex: Barik / Ash / Bomb King / Lian / Ma'Damba -

Barik / Lian / Mal'damba are Direct hitting champions - Haven

Ash / Bomb King are AoE hitting champions - Blast Shield

But you wouldnt buy Haven and blast shield if the enemy team looked like

Ex: Barik / Makoa / Lian / Kinessa / Maldamba

Because all 5 of these champions are Direct hitting champions. So instead of buying Blast Shield 2 you would just buy haven 3

Although it is okay if the Enemy team has 4 Direct damages and 1 Blast champ like Ash. To buy Blast shield 2 if you're getting pressure by her quite often.
