Casual will always be a marvelous spectacle, imagine no one buying Cauterize half the time, imagine people wasting Credits on Life Rip and Kill to Heal, and, imagine, just imagine, Cardio Viktor Deft Hands.

Casual is a 0 stress environment where you should just laugh it off, maybe warm up in casual if you need to, my favorite thing to do is to stack up 3 supports and make people cringe on how they lost.

But the true meme lord of destruction in casual is Dredge.

So, you want to have fun and wreck some noobs in casual, while playing a champion everyone puts at C on tier lists for good reasons, this is a simple guide on how to Dredge it out and do things like these :

Don't do this in ranked ! I'm not responsible for this not working against people with awareness!.

You need to learn 1 thing: dying is bad, don't die, it's not worth it, trust me, and compare Dredge's death count to his teammates (These are TDM/Onslaught/Quickplay Siege matches).

Loadout against anyone that can fly/hover (Hurl)

Loadout against ground only targets (Abyssal Spike) always worse than the previous one no matter what but still works:

RULES OF PLAYING DREDGE

You win more if you don't spam broadside, just hold LMB instead, because anyone can just walk out of broadside or even walk through it.

There are only 2 viable uses for broadside

1)To kill Luna on the point or destroy Inara's wall/Barik's shield as you do 950*3 with it to those stationary targets.

2) use Broadside at your feet to prevent anyone from jumping on you.

Spamming broadside = you're playing dredge wrong.

Don't buy deft hands if you're playing Hurl because that's just a waste of credits, dredge loves Nimble/Haven.

Q: Why no one buys Cauterize on dredge

1- Hurl (Harpoon) does not apply Cauterize.

2- Hitting players with your LMB at long range is not easy so you won't apply Cauterize

3- you do a lot of damage so you don't need to apply Cauterize, the only support that can do something about you is Io with her DR and giving the enemy some speed to dodge you, you cannot kill that enemy as long as Io lives, but guess what, Harpoon pierces enemies so aim for Io and get 2 hits in 1 if not 3 with luna.

Don't just spam Harpoon (Hurl), use your weapon too!, if the enemy is slow, you burst them down faster with LMB than with Harpoon.

You regenerate 1 ammo per target hit by Harpoon when playing the Hurl loadout, so don't reload, you don't need to, that's when you spam hurl a few times to get ammo back, or reload in cover.

The argument that Scuttle dredge players use (Deft hands 3 + Reloading = you shoot 2 projectiles in the time it takes one) might be true but imagine hitting those 2 at the same time, that's rare, and you have a window in between reloads for the enemy to do whatever they feel like, to me, Scuttle is like having no talent, both in game and IRL.

There is little incentive to be running the Abyssal Spike loadout shown above over Hurl, I used to play that talent to make snipers run away every time, And my abyssal spike loadout is bad beyond belief!, imagine not running blow the man down when not playing Hurl, what a n00b.

Dredge cannot lose any 1v1 while playing Hurl, you have the highest sustain in the game, standing near a portal heals you for 200/s and hitting 1 enemy with Harpoon heals you for 400, and you can hit more than one enemy with it which is pretty common in TDM/Onslaught, you just don't die, and if things go bad, you get a shield, and if they get worse, step into your portal for damage immunity and to escape to another position.

Maeve doesn't kill you, instead, you kill Maeve, spam hurl harpoons, if you're confident enough, use LMB on where she's about to land, she's got a slightly lower chance to kill you than you do to kill her, she'll probably run away or try to use her DR to tank through your spam but your sustain is higher, remember, she does 800/s or 1k/s if she used cat burglar, that's something you can sustain even on Caut 3, you'll win with your shield card activating every time, just don't miss :D

Andro can kill you, but you have a chance to kill him too, stop running aimlessly if you didn't setup your teleports, instead, use the jump card on 2 adjacent teleports, you'll be immune for a bit and then jump up to throw his aim off, if he's good you'll still die, if not, you win.

-------

About not dying: A team needs to score 40 points in TDM in order to win, Dredge is safe, he has a ton of sustain, can escape bad situations, and After teleporting, can jump higher than Maeve (do it!, it's what separates a noob Dredge from a good one) and rain down fire from above, really love the confusion and how they try to flick to find you but don't.

in TDM, not only do you deal easy damage for free most of the time, you also give your team more chances to feed, because you yourself don't xD, it's always better not to die no matter what, so lay back, relax, and enjoy.

-------

Here's a challenge for feeding lovers: hold W on my abyssal spike loadout, buy nimble 2 at the start of the match, use your mine early on a spot you know the enemy will come from, and hold LMB, best done with someone pocketing you but honestly you might win it all by yourself.

you can buy Cauterize if you want it since you're all up in the enemies face.

No other loadout needed.
