[DISCLAIMER] I AM NOT A COMP PLAYER AND THIS IS JUST FOR FUN

i am just a silly casp player who enjoys the infamously worst flank in game i recently got back into paladins and chose caspian to sink my time into I only started maining AFTER his stun got removed so idk how this compares

This just a build to help Casp live longer by accruing shield through his stacks and elims. Late game he can get up to 5000 hit points in his health bar. Caspian is a very frail squishy champion whose only built in proctection is 30% dr from his dash. This build uses cards in combination with his talent and items to give him a persistent shield pool allowing for a more confident playstyle. This also enables more frequent dash usage for any movement junkies.

Notes

Ill use this space to explain what purpose each card has in the build. But first Let me go through the talent you should pick.

Firstly I pick Everywhere at once because it gives you a lower cool down on the dash (deadly momentum/dm) always and it gives you both sm and pm stacks on passing through enemies which plays a big part of how we want to play with this build:

Deadly Flourish (5)

This makes your dash faster and allows you to get to your targets faster and allows you to pass through people with ease. with your talent you can get stacks easy by quickly dashing through groups.

Shoot and Dash (4)

This gives you your shield on the expiration of sharp momentum (sm) stacks. Its not much on its own but it can keep you afloat from stray damage. combined with guardian, it can get a lot beefier. How this plays into the build is to get the stacks by hitting shots or dashing through people because the talent allows gaining stacks through dashing. then when the stacks expire you can get up to 800 shield (without guardian) you can give this card 5 points (swapping with deadly flourish) to get a max of 1000 shield (without guardian) per 5 stacks but with max guardian and 4 shoot and dash caspian gains 928 shield per 5 stacks.

Swift Strikes (2)

Just allows you to go farther with your dash it can be swapped with other things. Although cards you may want to avoid are anything that reduces the cooldown of deadly momentum or he shot first. This is because the talent prevents the dm cd cards from working at all and he shot first extends the duration of piercing momentum (pm) and we want the pm stacks to expire so we can get our shield more often.

The Rose's Thorns (2)

because sharp momentum (sm) and piercing momentum have the same expiration time (without cards: shining example and he shot first) your healing and shielding can come about just the same time :D This adds a little bit of healing and can deffo be switched out with both sides of the coin if you prefer more on command self healing. The reason I personally prefer getting healing from the stack expiration is cause it allows me to rest for a second around a corner to heal without waiting too long for ooc healing and when the stacks expire caut would most likely have worn off resulting in a better burst heal (from culminated stacks). whereas if you heal while you shoot (both sides of the same coin) you are most likely being shot back at and are losing healing due to caut also the healing from rose's thorns is greater at base even with 1 stack compared to he shot first.

The finer things (2)

I know this build is just for funsies but i say this with full seriousness The Finer Things is HIM. it is caspian's best card by farrrr and nothing else comes close. i suggest that finer things is always ran no matter what your build is. It provides caspian with so much speed which requires only hitting (emphasis on hitting not just firing) your pistol shots and can be proc'ed on non players. ie, Io's, Fox, Ying's Illusions, Saati's Cardboard (Note that although you can proc finer things on non players you can NOT get pm stacks off of them) . The finer things is also just so fun (tangent warning) I love the fact that you can fully catch up to a sprinting viktor just by shooting him and walking if you have finer things 5 even without nimble. Caspian will just feel like nothing and incredibly slow without this card. Finer things is THE chase tool as you are dealing damage AND closing the distance. It also adds incentive to fire your gun because that is where your precious pm stacks come from to boost your health pool with the shield.

For Items You'll want Nimble, Sentinel, Life rip and Guardian. You'll want to max out nimble before anything else. Which isnt exactly hard. What i do personally is use the starting 500 to get 2 tiers and then quickly get a few kills or whatever and die to get to spawn quicker to get the third. sometimes I can do without the third immediately but i just really like the way nimble 3 feels on him. After that you can get sentinel or life rip. I lean towards sentinels always because a big hindrance to caspians zooming is slows and stuns. Sentinels 3 lets you run around in inara zone like normal. I find that the item sentinels in particular brings this build together as you can get huge shields from eliminations. Guardians increases these Shields.
