Chrono-Cannon
Atlas
Notes

Chrono-Cannon-(Direct Damage)

Atlas' weapon is a unique one in paladins. On a single click the arm cannon will fire 15 rounds in a very broad direction. This charge time is great to use when in close combat with someone constantly moving or attempting to dodge. The weapon can also be charge to progressively get more accurate but also fire less rounds. Something to bear in mind about this weapon is that at full charge the cannon automatically fires so try and have you aim set before you charge completely. The full charge time is 1.5s and depending on how long you hold it it fires 15, 10 ,5 or 1 shot.

Setback
Atlas
Notes

Setback

Setback is Atlas' right-click ability and allows you to fire a bulk of energy towards one enemy and send them back to the position and lowest health they were at 4 seconds ago. This can become especially useful if you are in combat against an enemy champion and they health themselves back to maximum health, you can then wait two seconds or so and revert them back to the vulnerable position. Although also bear in mind it is 4 seconds so if a champion charges in and you take off loads of their health do not right click as you will likely just revert them back to the position before they charged in and give them a second chance. This will likely result in your team not being very happy with you. It also has a base 12 second cool-down so use it sparingly

Stasis Field
Atlas
Notes

Stasis Field

Stasis Field is Atlas' default q ability that allows him to create a large barrier that blocks all ranged damage for 5s. It only works in a single direction and cannot be moved once it has been placed down. However it does work extremely well in choke points where the enemy have to attack in one direction. It also has a very long cool-down of base 14 seconds though which makes it useful when trying to capture the point or push immediately but serves little purpose maintaining your team's control of the point.

Second Chance
Atlas
Notes

Second Chance

Second chance is by far Atlas' most useful ability as it allows you to go back 5 seconds into the past and your health is also restored to the highest value it was in that period. This ability allows Atlas some self-sustainability when the support of the team is down. It is his default f ability and has a cool-down of 18 seconds base which means that once you've used you may not want to rush straight back in. It works especially well when you are put into a disadvantaged situation (either lower health then the enemy or a mismatch in the numbers of your enemy) when you can restore your health to full and continue fighting or just escape the situation altogether.

Exile
Atlas
Notes

Exile-Ultimate

Exile is Atlas' ultimate ability and allows him to fire three shots over 4 seconds at enemies. If your shots hit then the targets will be put into a banished state where they cannot be interacted by with their own team or yours. Due to this stipulation you may wish to do it to the higher health enemies and whilst they are banished deal with the lower health ones. It can also be especially useful in situations where the capture point is being contested heavily by both teams and you can quickly give your team the upper hand in the battle. The main downside of this ultimate is the accuracy and time limit. If you want to get the maximal use out of it you have to hit three of three shots on three different moving targets in the space of three seconds. This ultimate may take a bit of practice to get used to but once you have mastered it, it can be a real game-changer. Also the shot does have slight auto aim to give you a hand hitting all the shots. Something to be kept in mind when using it on smaller groups of enemies is that it can be cancelled by pressing the ultimate button again and the remaining ultimate charge will not be consumed if it is cancelled. There is one big counter to this ultimate if you really want to do it. The duration of the banish can be decreased with resilience quite heavily but the minimum duration is 1 second so you can still get the satisfaction of hitting people with the blast even if they are only banished for that 1 second.

Talents
Build Section
Notes

Atlas has two interesting talents that can be used to improve his offensive capabilities without being too difficult to adapt to. The other one is not great because of the cool down increase it comes with

Talents
Deja vu

Deja vu

Setback

Setback becomes a lobbed explosive, capable of Rewinding multiple enemies.

Stasis Field

Greatly increase the size of Stasis Field, but its Cooldown is increased by 65%.

Notes

Deja Vu

Unlocked at mastery level 8, this talent turns setback into a lobbed explosive that allows Atlas to rewind multiple enemies with the effects of setback. Works pretty well on groups of enemies but the radius of it isn't great. Best time to use it is when the enemy team is dominating the point and you need to clear it quickly. Can be used in tandem with No One Escapes to improve the effectiveness and send the multiple enemies even further back into the past and give you enough time to capture the point as a team and regain control.

Unstable Fissure

The default talent for Atlas means that activating second chance leaves behind an explosive fissure that after 3 seconds that deals 900 damage where you activate the ability. The three second timer lowers the capabilities of this power because there is severe damage drop-off to the explosion and that 3 seconds gives ample time for more mobile champions to get away. The main benefit is it adds a a damaging aspect to one of the abilities you should be using most often and may allow you to gain the upper hand on any champions that try and pursue the visible ghost that is created when you activate second chance.

Temporal Divide

Unlocked at mastery level 2, Temporal divide changes Atlas' stasis field to be far larger but also increases the cool-down of stasis field by 50%. In my opinion this talent is kind of unnecessary for the majority of Atlas builds because stasis field is large enough for most situations and maps. I think this talent could be far better if it not only stretched the field laterally but also curved it a bit to provide more protection from flanks. However in it's current state I don't think it provides all that many benefits compared to the other two unless you really need to protect a Drogoz or Willow in the air.

Recommended build for most games
Build Section
Notes

This build is simply my opinion. If you want to create your own based off of your own play style of preferences go for it but the purpose of this build is to provide one that will allow you to immediately have fun as Atlas and go in and play him in casual. Obviously competitive builds will differ massively because they are trying to fulfil certain specifications in order to mesh well with the team comp

Notes

For this build I am simply recommending the default ability because it requires no investment to get but once you unlock Deja Vu I would recommend trying it over a few games to see if you prefer it to unstable fissure. Sometimes I don't really notice unstable fissure in game so you may prefer deja vu because you can immediately see the effects of it. At the end of the day the items from the shop depends on what you want but I would always recommend Chronos as Atlas is a champion that really thrives when using his abilities. As a front line you may want rejuvenate and haven especially as a front line with lower health than most of them. The build itself expands some of Atlas' best abilities and provides him with some well-needed sustainability. Beyond the veil is a popular choice in ranked but you could swap it out with something if you are playing with lots of randoms that aren't making full use out of it. However if you are playing with people in a call it can really assist you in pushes just before the stasis field runs out.
