Ying isn't the most meta relevant character but she's far from unviable. Her burst healing is some of (if not) the best and with the right build she can really squeeze the most out of her toolkit. She's probably one of the best double healer characters since other healers benefit a lot from having backline healing and her ability to get out of situations is unmatched by any healer.

Main Build
Build Section
Notes

This build focuses her two most important tools: Shatter and Dimensional Link. Ying can be a really successful back healer, who can go in to accomplish whatever the team needs (chip damage, assists, illusions in favorable corners for tank healing, etc.) then warp back to a safe position. Shatter is incredible when taking Life Exchange into mind, as that's how you solo burst heal any character to full in an instant. Flanks will benefit so much off of one slight interaction with your healing and be ready to rush back into enemy lines, while tanks will hold onto life for so long by just focusing them with Illusions and Shatter.

Requirements for Ying
Life Exchange

Life Exchange

Shatter

Shatter instantly Heals your target for 800, but its Cooldown is increased by 1s and it no longer explodes your Illusions. Reduce the Cooldown of Shatter by 2s if you miss.

Level 1

Morale Boost

Morale Boost

Armor

Increase your Ultimate charge rate by 30%.

Level 3

Chronos

Chronos

Armor

Reduce the Cooldown of all your abilities by 10%.

Level 1

Notes

Do yourself a favor and commit to Life Exchange. Even as a double healer and especially as a solo healer, life exchange is going to favor your team more than the slight damage output she can put out with her explosions.
Round Start buy Chronos, but as the game goes on spend the rest of your credits on Morale Boost. Ying is a character who really benefits from her ultimate, and she doesn't ever really need to hold onto her ultimate unless the round is about to end and you can use it next round. Use it as much as you can, and be sure to pop it when your flank is getting around half health or you're burst healing a tank back to full health. Then once Morale Boost is Level 3, start investing into Chronos, Haven, Veteran, or Resilience (whatever the matchup calls for)

Items to buy after Morale Boost
Haven

Haven

Armor

Reduce the Damage you take from Direct and Area of Effect attacks by 6%.

Level 1

Resilience

Resilience

Veteran

Armor

Increase your base maximum Health by 5.5%.

Level 1

Master Riding

Master Riding

Armor

Increase your Mount Speed by 15%.

Level 1

Kill to Heal

Kill to Heal

Armor

Getting a kill or elimination heals you for 200 Health, unaffected by Anti-Healing.

Level 1

Notes

I don't ever really invest Nimble. Her teleportation is incredible on its own with enough practice, and her Shatter healing works so far from a range that she never needs to get too close. Plus, if you need to reposition an illusion far away, you can just teleport to it and place another, then pop right back to where you were.

Notes

You may notice I put more than 5 cards but don't panic. Every Level 1 card is a viable option for your Ying deck, and whatever you choose will benefit you in some way. The cards above it are requirements though.
-Brittle is your most important card. With Life Exchange adding another second of cooldown to your Shatter healing ability, it's important to have the cooldown as low as possible. Very simple, but very effective.
-Spring Blossom is also very important, but you could go either 4-5 with this card and still see success. Your Illusions are destined to be killed by good players, but this card takes something that would be otherwise frustrating and incredibly rewarding. If your opponents are playing too aggressive to your illusions it will help you long-term placing illusions with burst healing and getting them in different locations for teleports and corner healing.
-Carry On is another very simple card, if your opponents are being too defensive then this card means the Illusions will do more healing over time and almost claim an area as your teams territory unless they destroy the illusion or let it die over time (which would give your more than enough time to replace it or place it in another position).
The rest of the cards in this set are very viable and accomplish similar goals to your win condition Ying needs to fulfil on a team. I personally really recommend Efficiency, but it's not a requirement like Brittle or Spring Blossom.

Notes

Some notes:
-Obviously Ying is really strong with tanks, but any tanks with a shield she's especially good with.

-Any character who can live a long time or extend their life with an ability (Khan, Moji, Zhin, etc) she's especially good with because her burst healing is just so strong and can capitalize off of those moments where they are invulnerable.
- Any character who can reduce anti-healing is incredibly strong with her.
-Snipers benefit from having illusions next to them or just backline healing in general.
-Flanks especially benefit from having ultimate heal them from so far away.

Strong Against

Notes

Ying doesn't have very good matchups AGAINST other characters considering she is just a healer, but i'll mention some:
Khan, Torvald, Io, Makoa, Jenos, and Omen all benefit from some kind of ability to throw you off the map or put you in an unfavorable position, and Ying is able to waste that ability with her Dimensional Rift. She can really put their good abilities to waste by just warping back to a favorable position with her Illusions.

Weak Against
YagorathAndroxusTyraBetty la BombaStrixKinessaWilloSkyeKogaVIIMojiSerisMal'DambaRei
Notes

This list may look long, but it's mostly just because most characters can capitalize on her biggest weaknesses.
-Any character with elements SUCKS to fight. I can't tell you the amount of times i've teleported away after being burnt or poisoned then just dying. It's hard for Ying to avoid single target debuffs so take that into consideration when seeing characters like Yagoroth or Skye.
-Snipers are obvious, their whole jobs being to pick off backlines and reduce numbers. Very simple, just be careful when peaking.
-AOE/Bomb characters really punish your illusions and cover such a wide area of places you can place illusions. Be sure to heal from a distance when fighting against them.

-Skye, in my opinion, is your hardest matchup. She does everything Ying loses to: Amazing close damage output, poison damage punishing you even after warping, and flanks you hard for staying back when healing. She has all the tools to kill you and keep killing you even when you're near your teammates. Koga also has this, but without any poison.
-Any ability that reduces healing is very hard to deal with, especially Rei who can really focus on causing you to heal almost nothing even with your incredible healing output.
