Personal list based off of my experience from playing since Willo was introduced, and playing Ranked for a season on PS4.

ss

s+

Makoa Makoa
Inara Inara
Skye Skye

Makoa: almost never a bad choice. great utility, arguably the best shield, great steamroll potential if hooks are landed. can be both point and offtank. Ult has huge potential

Inara: Ridiculous amounts of DR and healing buffs. also wall and no no zone. paired with a decent healer, inara is the strongest point tank.

Skye: weird spot as she can be easily countered, but thrives off of lack of enemy team synergy. very little skill needed but can make advanced plays. decent Ult.

s

Ash Ash
Khan Khan
Talus Talus
Grover Grover

Ash: my main. great utility. can spread caut effectively and bully enemy players into buying resilience. incredible sustain and can contest well. has a more effective shield build than barik. easily countered by CC and much more suited for offtank however. high potential in Ult.

Khan: also great utility. any shout build on khan will give him enough sustain. can force the enemy team into buying counter items as well. decent shield and DPS. Ult is very effective for tanks

Talus: i haven’t played him, however i’ve seen he has huge potential to abuse enemy players in 1v1s. like skye, thrives off of lack of enemy team synergy. Ult has great poke and stagger capabilities.

Grover: excellent healer on console. no worrying about misplaced healing off of aim assist. synergizes well with many champions on most maps. arguably has the best “escape” for healers. Ult is powerful early game.

Terminus Terminus
Mal'Damba Mal'Damba
Vivian Vivian
Zhin Zhin
Tyra Tyra
Koga Koga
Grohk Grohk

Terminus: is a character.

Vivian: a champion with low skill and high reward. often banned because no one bothers to counter her.

Tyra: a more useful DPS than viktor. good utility and can be a great asset to the team with fire bomb and hunters mark.

Zhin: has potential to waste a lot of the opposing teams time and effort. though he is getting nerfed, he can still do his job quite well. Ult imo is meh but Yomi is a game changer.

Koga: why does this champion exist.

Mal’damba: good healer for console. has great utility. can multitask with heals. very forgiving on console where aim assist might be the bane of your existence. Ult is situational but very powerful.

Grohk: direct counter to CC reliant champions like Ash or Khan. can be used as an off healer/damage. struggles to do effective healing on his own. Ult is slightly under appreciated as it can be a great asset in pushing choke points.

a+

Seris Seris
Bomb King Bomb King
Imani Imani
Furia Furia
Ruckus Ruckus
Jenos Jenos
Lian Lian
Pip Pip

Ruckus: well known pseudo-tank. Low HP, High DPS. arguably has the best mobility for tanks. very useful as an offtank but can rarely be used as point. Ult has high DPS potential but practiced timing and positioning is needed.

Lian: Basically the same potential cassie would have on PC. two auto aim abilities for high burst DPS, and can 1v1 most champions, with decent aim.

Imani: decent DPS and CC. can take advantage of bad team comps. Ult can be great or not so great, depending on enemy teams DPS and items.. and will to live.

Bomb King: very high skill ceiling. heavy DPS potential and can multitask between CC and midair sniping. Ult is decent enough to make plays around.

Seris: usually the go to for a regular healer on console. different builds can be used for max healing, CC, or overall DPS. Ult has high potential in close quarters.

Pip: arguably the most underrated healer. does big burst healing and has good synergy with champions that have increased healing. excellent mobility and thrives as an off healer, or flank....

Jenos: similar to Grohk, where you would probably need another main healer. powerful in ranked because of his damage buff talent. also has room for different builds regarding max healing, CC, and DPS

Furia: underwhelming but can still get the job done. great DPS at max wrath. main issue being very inefficient playing solo as teammates often aren’t coordinated enough to catch most beams when pushing, even if it will literally make you budget Inara. basically a sitting duck when her teammates are dead and needs to retreat. Ult can be powerful with proper timing.

a

Cassie Cassie
Sha Lin Sha Lin
Barik Barik
Willo Willo
Ying Ying
Torvald Torvald

Torvald: gr8 tank. as a support pocket, he can push hard with his team, despite having lower DPS. Ult is more of a meme at this point but it has potential for multi slays off certain maps

Barik: it can be both inspiring and very frustrating seeing this dwarf defend a point against all odds, forever. has more of an outdated loadout, but having turrets that can body block for you and spamming rocket bowling ball usually leads to the least amount of deaths on the team; in low ranks anyway. Ult is also kinda outdated but can still be useful at chokes. oh and there’s a shield i guess.

Willo: decent mobility and dps. her dead zone can make a huge impact on the enemy team in most situations. while also an underwhelming champion, her seedlings still do good burst damage. with her Ult, a good willo player can make great plays.

Sha Lin: can dish out a massive amount of DPS if the enemy team doesn’t focus him. a bit more low key then other damages, but performs well in most conditions. Ult is s p o o k y and with a flank becomes dangerous.

Cassie: this bird lady has a high skill ceiling and potential, however on console is more difficult to play and master. she is very effective in various ranges, and has great potential in all three of her talents. her Ult can be good to weed out flanks or assist a strong push, but if you die, it’s wasted.

Ying: all around great healer. probably the most unforgiving on console, especially with Life Exchange. Dimension Link has potential to be op with her shatter talent, and is a great way to escape with LE. Ult is arguably one of the best of the best, because of its massive healing and basically guaranteeing a decent push.

a-

Evie Evie
Viktor Viktor
Fernando Fernando
Buck Buck
Dredge Dredge
Drogoz Drogoz

Fernando: very unfortunate he got nerfed, as he used to be a great team asset. he can pretend to be useful by keeping his shield up or dropping it to out play enemies. his Ult is probably the most important aspect as it can grant the entire team immunity.

Viktor: very basic champion because reasons, however still does pretty decent DPS. Ult can clear a flank or choke effectively.

Drogoz: can be fun to play on certain maps. provides good aoe damage for the team. the empowered lizard also has an Ult that can almost guarantee a stagger.

Dredge: not a whole lot to say really. i’d rather he not be in play as he can be pretty spammy at low rank, but not worth a ban pick. Ult isn’t great but situational.

Buck: a bit unique as he uses a shotgun and can remind you of when you missed your train, not finishing him off. with some DR and healing, he can focus down weaker enemies. his Ult helps him do this, but better.

Evie: arguably the hardest champion to master, especially on console. however a good evie player can be more effective than any flank or damage on her team by constantly poking and distracting the team, especially with wormhole. Ult cripples and slows but in ranked you’re still gonna have to be always on the move from the enemy as they can still damage.

b

Atlas Atlas
Moji Moji
Androxus Androxus

Atlas: neat champion. not sure how he’ll do in ranked.

Androxus: generally isn’t a great pick due to being very counterable. however still has great potential in low rank/elo.

Moji: mediocre even with damage buffs. can easily fall out of team synergy and any competent enemy team can focus her down

c

Maeve Maeve
Lex Lex

Maeve: it is somewhat peculiar how often she is picked in ranked. she isn’t necessarily a bad champion, just usually too squishy.

Lex: considered a “throw pick” on PC, but on low rank console he is a lot more common. with his lifesteal and regain health loadout he can take advantage of a team early game and before they get Cauterize three

d

Kinessa Kinessa
Strix Strix

Strix: snipers usually aren’t a great pick in ranked, especially with the increased aiming difficulty on console. has better utility than Kinessa and can be a pest with THAT talent and THAT move. Ult is situational but can be a very useful asset in a team push.

Kinessa: basically outclassed by Strix, however has a better means of escape. very high skill ceiling and takes a lot of practice on console. there is a good chance the kinessa on your team is either very good or very bad, making her a very unreliable champion. borders on being useful to useless depending on the map. Ult is decent for what it is.
